Our mother institute, Battala Anandamoyee High School (HS) imprinted with the name of ‘MAA ANANDAMOYEE’ was setup in 1948, sixty years ago on the out-skirt of Uttar Ramnagar due to the visionary Zeal and action of the eminent people of our locality at Battala. This institution was setup by a group of educationists.
Late Tarini Prasad Das Mahapatra, late Brajamohan Baroponda, late Haranarayan Pradhan, late Sashi Bhushan Maity, late Rajani Kanta Singah were the persons who led the institution at the dawn of it.
Just after the Independence the baby India was too sensitive towards political issues, social issues. Malaria, illiteracy, superstition, violence covered the whole post-independence atmosphere.
In this circumstances Braja Mohan Baroponda along his friends, neighbours Tarini Prasad Das Mahapatra and Sashi Bhushan Maity tried to solve the problem of illiteracy. They started with govt. support and established ‘HATI CHARAN PRTHAMIK VIDYALAYA’. This primary school began with 31 students providing the 5th and 6th classes under the guidance of Headmaster Sri. Vimacharan Pradhan(Matriculate).
By the passage of time the school was renamed ‘ANANDAMOYEE M.E. SCHOOL’ with the facilities of higher classes(7th and 8th).
Time never stop, so as the school. Then the school ran smoothly providing appropriate infrastructure to its students. The previous mud-built house was shifted to this new building . Gradually this institute was raised to a status of a Secondary School in the year 1963. From the year 2002 the school is upgraded to a higher secondary School under the WBCHSE board. But the name is slightly changed to ‘Battal Anandamoyee High school’.
